Chapter 15

Thankfully, the walk of shame was only a few feet. Ander tugged on his slacks from last night, not bothering with the button, and grabbed his shirt and dress coat before looking back over his shoulder at the sleeping beauty snuggled into the warmth of the blankets covering her. That had been his body keeping her warm just seconds ago. Deep regret of opportunities lost had him swinging his head away and forcing himself to quietly shut the bedroom door behind him.

Funny how a nine o’clock Eastern Time meeting had irked him just a few days ago. He’d had to fly out here and work around the clock. The least his lazy siblings could do was get their asses out of bed a little earlier.

Now, he wished he’d scheduled the call for later so he could enjoy a restful morning with Emma. Maybe they could have eaten the breakfast in bed together. Licking that natural maple syrup off Emma’s beautiful breasts would have made the breakfast much sweeter.

Ander’s cock reawakened at the thought of sucking on Emma’s rosy nipples as he pushed through the door of the bedroom he’d been staying in. Perhaps he could end the call early and crawl back in bed to do that very thing.

“You’re late.”

Ander jolted at his mother’s voice, dropping his shirt and dress coat on the bed, his heart slamming in his chest and he jerked around to the desk chair in the corner of the room. How he’d made it so far inside the room without noticing her was a testament to how lost he’d become to the fantasy of Emma’s tits. “You’re never late. And you aren’t dressed,” his sister, Skye, said from the computer screen behind his mother’s back. A computer which should have been locked until he made the effort to begin the conference call.

“He’s met someone,” his mother said, still facing him. Ander made a show of rolling his eyes as he left his clothes on the bed and went for his suitcase to pull free a T-shirt.

“Do tell,” Erik, his brother, said while Ander pulled the shirt over his head and buttoned his slacks.

“Don’t say a word, Mom. It’s none of their business,” Ander declared, sending all his siblings—whose images were currently partitioned into a split screen—into laughing fits.

“Of course it’s our business. You’re our brother,” Skye said. Though they kept in touch regularly, Ander was surprised at how adult she looked on the screen. Sure, she was twenty-six and living on her own across the country, but she’d always be his baby sister.

“Not by choice,” he grumbled, pulling a commonly muttered phrase from his youth.

“It’s the young woman your father wanted him to meet,” his mother said dreamily, tilting her head back when he came to stand before her. Ander narrowed his eyes.

“What are you talking about?” He’d wondered which brother Emma was meant for, but,
